About the Project
Deezer's settings interface had grown organically over the years, resulting in a complex and sometimes confusing experience for users. The redesign project aimed to simplify the settings experience while adding new functionality and improving user engagement.

The Challenge
We faced several key challenges in this redesign:
- Complex settings structure with interdependencies
- High number of configuration options
- Need to support multiple subscription tiers
- International user base with different needs
- Technical limitations of the existing infrastructure
Research Phase

Our research process included:
- Analysis of user behavior data and support tickets
- In-depth interviews with 30+ users across different segments
- Competitive analysis of music streaming platforms
- Technical feasibility studies with engineering
Design Process
1. Information Architecture
We reorganized settings into logical groups based on user mental models and frequency of use. This included creating new categories and simplifying navigation.

2. User Flow Optimization
We streamlined common tasks and reduced the number of steps needed to complete key actions. This included redesigning the subscription management flow.

3. Visual Design
We applied Deezer's new design system to create a modern, consistent interface that aligns with the brand while prioritizing usability.

4. Prototyping & Testing
We created interactive prototypes and conducted multiple rounds of usability testing to validate our design decisions.
